21 years of cricket, 171 test matches, over 31,000 international runs, bunch of records its more than enough to expect that its all about the Batting Maestro Sachin Tendulkar. The 'Run Machine' added another feather to his cap by scoring 14,000 Test international runs in the cricket history.
Having been the first one to reach quite a few landmarks, the legendary Sachin Tendulkar on Sunday became the first person in the history of Test cricket to complete 14,000 runs. Tendulkar cut off-spinner Nathan Hauritz's delivery through coverpoint to hit a boundary and accomplished the feat at 25 of his unbeaten 44 in the day. It was the fourth delivery of the 27th over of the Indian innings.
Incidentally, it was during Australia's last tour of India, Sachin crossed Brian Lara's record of most number of runs in Test cricket.
Sachin Tendulkar expectedly became the first batsman in test history to complete 14,000 runs while leading India's reply to Australia's formidable total on day two of the second test at the Chinnaswamy Stadium on Sunday.
Tendulkar was batting on 44 and giving him company was Murali Vijay on 42. The duo had put on 90 runs for the third wicket.
The Master Blaster completed yet another milestone in his long and illustrious career - in his 171st test. And there was no surprise in this case.
Needing 27 at the start of his innings, Tendulkar reached the landmark with a boundary off Nathan Hauritz and celebrated it with another, both through cover point. In the process he also became the highest scorer in tests at Bangalore.
