Sachin Tendulkar hits 50th test Century at Centurion
Sachin celebrating his 50th Test ton |
And some born to create records.
Sachin Tendulkar belongs to the second category.
Yet another feather added on HIS cap.......Tendulkar created another record of the first batsman to score 50 test centuries. Take a bow to Sachin's achievement and congratulate him first. He dedicated it to his father Ramesh Tendulkar (yesterday it was Ramesh Tendulkar's Birthday).
Christians only celebrates Christmas,
Hindus only celebrates Diwali,
Muslims only celebrates Ramzaan,
but every Indian celebrates only when Sachin Tendulkar achieve/create something new, of course its not a new thing.

Sachin says no to liquor brand endorsement
MUMBAI: True to his promise and character, Indian cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar has refused a mega offer to endorse a liquor brand. Experts in the commercial endorsement business say it would have been the highest-ever deal for an Indian sportsperson had it been clinched.
A spokesperson from World Sports Group (WSG) -- who look after his endorsements -- confirmed the offer but said they cannot give details of the deal offered. "He did get an offer but we are not in a position to name the company or give details of the offer," said the WSG spokesperson.
TOI has learnt that the offer, a one-year contract, was much higher than what Mahendra Singh Dhoni recently signed for a three-year deal with Vijay Mallya's UB Group, which is worth Rs 26 crores. Sources say Tendulkar was offered as much as Rs 20 crore annually.

Sachin Tendulkar Completes 21 years of Cricket
By Bikash Singh – November 15th, 2010 @ Yahoo
There is always room for improvement. I am happy with my current performance but not satisfied. I want to get better. In fact, in any profession one must strive to get better and better. I always want to remain a student of the game because that is when you grasp more and are always keen to improve – Sachin Tendulkar
WOW!
I was not much of a cricket fan when the master blaster made his Test debut against Pakistan on 15 November, 1989. But now, I may perhaps stop following the sport when Sachin Tendulkar retires.
The master batsman completes 21 years (again, 21 years) in Test cricket on November 15 and continues to inspire generations of cricketers with room for improvement on his mind. Most runs, centuries, half-centuries, fours, sixes and what not – Sachin has broken every possible record in international cricket and is still on the prowl.

Tendulkar Guiding India with his 49th Test ton
India ride on Tendulkar's 49th ton to chase the big score by Oz |
Tendulkar is chasing the big target set by Oz by making solid partnership of 160 runs for third wicket with Murali Vijay, who also completed his unbeaten Half century.
Most of cricket fans think that Tendulkar is playing for centuries as he plays carefully at 90's, but this time there is no chance to them to think like that. Tendulkar reached his 49th ton in an exciting way when he smashed two sixes at 93 and 99 of Nathan Hauritz in his style.

Sachin delighted with new IAF (Group Captain) role
Sachin Tendulkar addressing spectators |
Tendulkar is the first sportsperson to be conferred a rank by IAF and the first personality with no aviation background to receive the honour.
In 2008, India's World Cup winning captain Kapil Dev had received the honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel of the Territorial Army. After air chief marshal P.V Naik conferred honorary rank on Tendulkar, who had smartly turned up in IAF’s sky blue uniform, the cricket legend revoked childhood memories surrounding Top Gun and his fascination for speed and fighter jets.
Immediately after getting the rank, the new brand ambassador had twin tasks at hand — defending cricket’s tarnished image and inspiring confidence in youngsters.

Sachin Tendulkar's unbeaten 89 was the defining feature of Mumbai's comprehensive win.
Sachin Tendulkar shored up Mumbai Indians yet again with his fifth half-century of the IPL that all but guaranteed them a place in the semi-final and took him to the top of the run-charts in the tournament. He overcame Rajasthan Royals' strong start by building two partnerships: the first with JP Duminy to lead Mumbai's recovery after the loss of three early wickets, and the second with Kieron Pollard to accelerate at the end. That effort was backed up by a clinical performance from Mumbai's bowlers, which left Rajasthan battling in a mid-table scrap at fourth place, and inflicted on them their first defeat in Jaipur.Monday, March 29
Master Tendulkar's consistency, Harbhajan's storm sizzles in Mumbai win
Mumbai Indians 172 for 7 (Harbhajan 49*, Tendulkar 55) beat Deccan Chargers131 (R Sharma 45, Malinga 3-12, Zaheer 3-21, Harbhajan 3-31) by 41 runs
They say a Twenty20 match can be won in ten minutes of violent batting or inspired bowling. Harbhajan Singh needed only 18 balls when he batted, and just one delivery when he bowled, to win the game for Mumbai Indians. Double-strikes from RP Singh and Pragyan Ojha had reduced Mumbai to 119 for 7, but Harbhajan played a wickedly-entertaining cameo to charge his team to 172. He wasn't done yet and opened the bowling to remove Adam Gilchrist with his second delivery, dealing the most crippling blow to the Deccan Chargers chase.Sunday, March 28
Tendulkar threat looms large as Chargers take on MI
Mumbai: The threat of Sachin Tendulkar taking the game away by the scruff looms as the biggest hurdle between defending champions Deccan Chargers and a victory in their Indian Premier League tie against Mumbai Indians at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on Sunday.
Tendulkar, who created history by making a double hundred against South Africa in Gwalior ODI last month, has not let up in his run-scoring ways and stands tall for Mumbai Indians in their quest to clinch the coveted IPL crown after the disappointment of the first two seasons.
The champion batsman has been in sublime form and has literally led his team from the front with his superb poise at the crease, which is reflected in MI going into the tie atop the points table with eight points.
Tendulkar's masterly knocks of 63 off 32 balls with 10 fours floored Delhi Daredevils at the Ferozeshah Kotla.

MUMBAI: Sachin Tendulkar and Shikhar Dhawan hit sparkling half-centuries as Mumbai Indians upended Chennai Super Kings by five wickets to soar to the top of the points table of the Indian Premier League on Thursday.

Former greats want Tendulkar to play in World T20
New Delhi, March 23 (IANS) Sachin Tendulkar's sparkling form in the Indian Premier League (IPL) has intensified calls of his inclusion in the Indian team for the Twenty20 World Cup next month.
Tendulkar, who is a month away from his 37th birthday, had decided to stay away from Twenty20 internationals and concentrate on Test and One-day cricket. But former cricketers feel Tendulkar should reconsider his decision and play in the upcoming World Twenty20.
His presence will bolster India's chances in the West Indies, more so when most of the youngsters are going through a lean patch, they say.

Tendulkar glow helps MumbaiIndians(MI) shine on IPL
In his 21st year of international cricket, Sachin Tendulkar has been in superb form - runs have flowed in Tests and ODIs and now the Twenty20 format. His innings at the Kotla on Wednesday encompassed all that is brilliant about the man - not just in the manner of his own batting but in how it influenced Mumbai Indians, both necessary traits if they aspire to reach the IPL semi-finals.
Mind over body
That Tendulkar can score 200 in an ODI and continue to drag a cricket ball from outside off stump and hit it through midwicket at the age of 37 instead of 27, Geoffrey Boycott wrote recently, will continue to astonish many. Yet it should not, he added, come as a surprise: though a player's fitness starts to slip a bit when he hits the mid-30s, the vast experience gained allows him to play smart cricket. The result, as Tendulkar so aptly showed this evening, was that he can perform just as well as he did at 27 without stretching his body to breaking point.

Mumbai survive special Yusuf ton with Sachin's sensible capitancy with bowling and fielding changes
,iMumbai Indians 212 for 6 (Rayudu 55, Tiwary 53, Mascarenhas 2-34) beat Rajasthan Royals 208 for 7 (Yusuf 100, Dogra 41, Malinga 2-22) by 4 runs
The second-fastest Twenty20 hundred, a 37-ball assault from Yusuf Pathan, as delicate as it was brutal, wasn't enough on a day in which precious little was contributed by the other Rajasthan Royals players. Despite Mumbai Indians piling on their biggest score in the IPL, it required special death bowling from Zaheer Khan and Lasith Malinga to deny Rajasthan 19 runs in the last two overs.
Yusuf's onslaught came after Mumbai's youngsters Ambati Rayudu, considered unlucky to have not played for India yet, and Saurabh Tiwary powered the home side to what seemed a massive total, but it turned out to be one that just about dodged the Yusuf-shaped bullet.
The it's-good-to-be-back ad campaign of the IPL could well have been meant exclusively for Yusuf. In his first innings back in India, he shook a dying match up and gave Mumbai a right scare. The Yusuf show began when Rajasthan needed 143 off 57. He scored 54 off the next 11 balls he faced, 26 other deliveries got him 46, and when he finally got out he left Rajasthan 40 to get off 17 deliveries.
Of the nine fours and eight sixes he hit in a frenetic period of play, three shots stood out - and they were not sixes. The length deliveries and full tosses were all murdered, but in the 13th over - he was 57 off 22 by then - Ryan McLaren bowled a decent enough yorker to him. Yusuf opened the face late, beautifully late, and guided it for four. The next ball was not more than a couple of inches short of being a yorker, but on the stumps, and he managed to get under it, and still hit it to long-off for four. The third yorker of the over was neither wide nor straight, in between, and he leaned back to make space and steered it even later than the one before. More brutal hits preceded a moment of inspiration for Mumbai.

Sachin Tendulkar becomes UN goodwill ambassador
Indian cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar has been named the Goodwill Ambassador of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).
The appointment announced by UNEP Executive Director Achim Steiner in Mumbai will enable Tendulkar to use his popularity to raise public awareness and harness support for environmental action in India and the world.
"It is the appointment of UNEP's goodwill ambassador for the environment of a person who perhaps in the history of cricket stands out as unique, who is revered by millions of people across the world, who in his personality has humbleness in his character represents everything that the IPL has declared it strives for and perhaps in each one of us we wish we live up to," Steiner said.
Tendulkar, who would be the second Indian after Mother Teresa to become UN ambassador, said he will be happy if he is able to contribute even a fraction of what she has done.
"I must say I have got very big shoes to fit. I don't know whether I will be able to contribute even a fraction of what she has been able to but if I can make everyone and understand a little bit, its just those small changes in life, day to day life, you don't have to change your lifestyle, small changes in life if you can do that it will really help us save the planet," Tendulkar said.

Congratulate the little master on his historic double century
Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar became the only player to score a double ton for a world record during the second One-dayer against South Africa in Gwalior. The double century came off just 147 balls and was a complete master piece from the master batsman. With 200 runs, the little master also broke Saeed Anwar and Charles Coventry's record of 194 runs respectively. Tendulkar smashed 25 fours and 3 sixes during his marathon innings, much to the delight of the crowds at Captain Roop Singh Stadium. Let's congratulate Sachin Tendulkar for adding yet another feather in his cap.

175 v Australia
fifth ODI, Hyderabad
In the most important one-day match of his career, Sachin Tendulkar was out for four as India tried to chase down a mammoth Australian total of 359. Six years later, in a game of admittedly less significance than the World Cup final, he found himself at the crease with his team once again needing more than 350 for victory. Again, India fell agonisingly short, but this time it wasn't for lack of a contribution from its talisman.

Sachin Tendulkar 175 v Australia fifth ODI, Hyderabad - Nominee for the Best ODI innings 2009
It was the India of the 90s all over again: Tendulkar almost chased 351 on his own, but with the target in sight he got out and the rest choked, falling short by three runs with two balls to go. Wickets kept falling around him but Tendulkar gave the bowlers only one half-chance all through his innings. All night they couldn't get an uncouth shot out of him. He came out of a relatively lean patch, kept the pace up without taking undue risks, and played mostly regular cricket shots; and though support wasn't always forthcoming from the other end, Tendulkar took the fight to the opposition, counterattacking each time a wicket fell.

Tendulkar crosses 13,000 Test runs
On a gloomy day when the Indian batting order collapsed in a heap against minnows Bangladesh, Sachin Tendulkar quietly reached yet
another milestone when he became the first batsman to score 13,000 Test runs on Sunday.
The highest run accumulator in both the Test and ODI versions of the game went into the first Test needing 30 runs to reach the milestone. Batting on 28, Tendulkar pulled Mahmudullah in the 36th over and the ball raced to the rope to bring up his 13000 runs in Tests in the 36th over.
